Deep Sequencing Facility of SFB 655
HiSeq 2000, Illumina
The establishment of state-of-the-art DNA sequencing in Dresden - so called Next Generation Sequencing or Massively Parallel Sequencing –, has been part of the SFB funding since the 2nd funding period of the SFB 655.
Beginning of 2011 the newly established deep sequencing group of the SFB installed the HiSeq 2000 system from Illumina. This technology enables the deep sequencing group to provide the SFB groups with massive parallellized 'Short Read Sequencing' up to read lengths of 2 x 100 bp.
Currently we provide support for the following applications:
• strand specific RNA sequencing
• RNA amplification methods to enable experiments with low RNA input
• ChIP sequencing
• genome wide and trageted re-sequencing
• barcode sequencing
We are also involved in the development and establishment of more customized solutions in close collaboration with the SFB groups.
